How to Remove Ticks, Prevent Mosquito Bites, and Reduce Your Child’s Risk of Insect-Borne Diseases

 Insect-borne diseases are a global problem, and while the United States may not see as many cases as other countries, they do occur here.  Children can be at higher risk because they are typically outside more often than adults and they may be playing in areas where they are exposed to mosquitoes, ticks, and sand flies.  April 7 is World Health Day and this year’s theme is “Small Bites, Big Threats.”  We’ve gathered together some materials that can help reduce your child’s risk.
